Irish consumers spend more than 16 days a year shopping, and the majority of us will dedicate four full days to festive shopping between now and Christmas Day.

A poll of 1,000 men and women found that Irish people spend over two hours a week on food shopping and a further two hours on shopping for clothes and shoes.

Many people are happy to spend considerable time window-shopping, especially for clothes, seen by many as a recreational activity. However, food shopping is much less popular and there has been an increase in the numbers doing the weekly grocery shop online.
