Two sentenced over drugs offences

A follow-up search after the Skibbereen drugs bust uncovered €18,000 worth of cannabis in a laundry basket at their home in Crookstown, Co Cork.

Detective Garda Andrew Manning said Jerzy Broszczak, aged 25, Aughinida, Macroom, Co Cork, was involved in drug dealing as a business enterprise.

He said Dawid Majewski, aged 28, of Pullerick, Crookstown, was a pawn being used to drive the other man and store the drugs.

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin sentenced Broszczak to seven years in prison with the last three years suspended. He imposed an 18-month sentence on Majewski, suspended in its entirety, for having cannabis for sale or supply.

The crimes were detected as a result of reports of activity at Field’s car park in Skibbereen, on February 4.

The cannabis was all from a grow-house at the Crookstown property.
