Irish are happy with education, but not economy

We have strong familial bonds, we are largely satisfied with the quality of education but our confidence in the Government and our financial institutions is considerably lower than the global average.

How we rank our economy, personal freedom, education, health, entrepreneurship and opportunities, social capital, safety and security and governance are all measured in a global prosperity index which throws up some interesting findings about the kind of country we perceive ourselves to live in.

The Legatum Prosperity Index, a London-based charitable public policy think-tank, ranks Ireland 12th out of 142 countries in its annual index that includes a measurement of our wellbeing as well as wealth.
