12 people in Ireland cleared of disease
The Department of Health’s chief medical officer, Dr Tony Holohan, who led Ireland’s swine flu defence, told an emergency meeting that since the death of 43-year-old Donegal man Dessie Quinn, 13 other people in Ireland have contacted doctors concerned they have ebola.
Of this group — of which the latest case occurred earlier this week in Co Louth — 23 tests have taken place, with none showing any signs of the deadly virus.
