As the water meters started ticking yesterday for private home owners, time was running out for scores of businesses in Limerick.

Businesses face supply cut-off over unpaid fees

Limerick City and County Council has warned that water supplies to an undisclosed number of local businesses will be disconnected in the coming weeks, due to unpaid accounts.

The supply cut-off to some commercial premises relates to the non-payment of water service charges, dating back in some cases for a number of years.
