Golden night for Kingdom as heroes welcomed home

Even the sky in Kerry was dressed in gold late yesterday as the team train pulled into Casement station carrying two sets of victors home.

In a county ravaged by emigration, the future was unexpectedly bright for football, one of the largest ever homecoming gatherings was told.

Like a bride, the train with the 37th senior All-Ireland title winners and their junior partners was fashionably late into Tralee — around 40 minutes — but no-one was watching the clock.
