Man pleads guilty over violent death

One of two men charged in relation to the violent death of a Latvian national in Carlow earlier in the week replied with the word "guilty" when the charge was put to him by gardaí, a court has heard.

Two men, Liam Power, aged 51, of Shaw Park, Carlow, and Dzintars Zackalausks, aged 31, of no fixed abode and originally from Latvia, appeared in Carlow District Court yesterday morning charged with assault causing harm to Gints Intenbergs.

The body of Mr Intenbergs, 41, was found at a house in Graigowen, Tullow, on Tuesday morning.
