A father-of-one charged over a botched raid at a pub in Dublin on New Year’s Day needed 30 stitches to his head and suffered two fractured ribs, a court has heard.

One of two men charged in relation to the violent death of a Latvian national in Carlow earlier in the week replied with the word "guilty" when the charge was put to him by gardaí, a court has heard.
