Former postman charged with opening postal packets at home

A former postman with An Post was yesterday charged with opening postal packets at his home last year.

Ian Spitere, aged 28, of 24 Strattan Pines, Bishopstown, Cork, faced four charges at Cork District Court.

Each count related to the alleged opening of a postal packet addressed to a named woman. Two packets related to the same woman and two others related to two other women.
