Vet dies while hill walking in Kerry

The man who died while hill walking in the MacGillicuddy’s Reeks, on Wednesday evening, has been named as Timothy (Teddy) Clifford, a veterinary surgeon of Annadale Rd, Killorglin, Co Kerry.

His death was not the result of a fall and he was alone when he took ill and died.

Mr Clifford, who was in his 50s and married with a family, was discovered in an unresponsive state by another hill walker on the ridge between Carrauntuohill and Caher mountain.
