TD continues donating part of salary to pay for teacher

A Kerry TD will continue to donate some of his salary to pay for a third teacher at Fybough National School, in the Dingle Peninsula, for the 2014/15 academic year.

Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin has waived half of his salary since his election to the Dáil in 2011.

Because of an increase in the pupil-teacher ratio and government cutbacks, the 49-pupil school had been due to lose one of its three teachers in 2012.
