A Donegal man has gone one further with perhaps the biggest ever Ice Bucket Challenge to date.

VIDEO: Irishman takes the Ice Bucket Challenge atop New York skyscraper

Not only did Niall Gillespie complete his challenge on top of a partially-built skyscraper above New York, but he also used a construction bucket holding hundreds of gallons of freezing water.

Niall completed the challenge with his buddy Henrique Almeida and even took off his hard hat.

The well-known Donegal man can be heard nominating his friends, including Mark Sweeney.

Another construction worker then throws a bucket of water over the pair.

But Niall then quips: “I think we need a bigger bucket.”

Suddenly a huge construction bucket appears across the skyline of the Big Apple, lining up to unleash the huge deluge on Niall and his buddy.

A drenched Niall is then heard saying: “It’s a good cause guys — donate the money.”

Niall thanked Henrique for taking the plunge with him, and “to Paddy [Hazel] & Billy for organising the buckets”.

“We would like to nominate Juan Padilla, Mark Sweeney, Guta Gt and my wonderful sis Kally Peace.

“Ye can make the donations when you are waiting for the video to load,” said Niall.
