VIDEO: Surprise homecoming leaves Irish mammies speechless

Dubliners Michelle, Aoife and Christine have been fulfilling their childhood dream of living in Australia for a year but they missed their families.

“Being away from home has been extremely hard and we all miss our families so much. We've saved really hard to make it home so we want to make it as special as possible!”

They asked SPIN 1038 to help them with an extra special request.

The station's Steve K contacted the girls' mothers and said they could help their daughters win a trip home by participating in a quiz game live on air.

They jumped at the chance but one mother, Geraldine, failed to answer all the 'Fly 'Em Home' questions correctly.

Little did they know that the girls had already arrived in Dublin earlier that morning and were waiting in the next room to surprise them.

Their devestation soon turned to joy when the three girls burst through the doors.
