Man faces 41 counts of sex assault on sister

A teenager whose complaints of being sexually assaulted by her brother were brought to the attention of her parents, a teacher, and a HSE social worker, was similarly assaulted and on one occasion raped by him after that, it was alleged yesterday.

The 37-year-old accused pleaded not guilty to a total of 41 counts of sexually assaulting his sister and one charge of raping her.

His trial opened before Mr Justice Paul Carney and a jury at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork.
