Gardaí called after suspected hospital baby abduction

Gardaí were alerted to University Hospital Limerick yesterday following concerns of a suspected attempted abduction of a baby.

Staff at the Rainbow Ward became suspicious after two women requested permission to take the baby from the children’s ward. Hospital security personnel was alerted and the local gardaí were contacted.

It’s understood the women had been playing with the baby at around 10.30am and asked if they could bring the infant for a walk.
