People living near Croke Park may still seek a legal injunction to stop five sell-out concerts by country music megastar Garth Brooks at the arena next month, despite being offered a €500,000 compensation deal over the issue.

Members of Croke Park Residents’ Association confirmed the stance last night after insisting the long-running standoff with stadium owners the GAA has nothing to do with money.

Under detailed proposals from Labour Relations Commission chief executive Kieran Mulvey, the sporting body has been asked to compensate people living near the iconic stadium with a €500,000 “legacy fund” due to the noise from the five-night stand in July.
