Decomposing body found on grounds of top hospital

The decomposing body of a homeless man who was dead for a week has been found on the grounds of a leading public hospital.

The Mater Hospital confirmed the tragic incident occurred in early April in a closed-off area of its inner city campus.

While the facility and gardaí declined to comment on the circumstances involved, it is believed the man — who was in his 30s — was found on April 9 after dying on April 2.
