Niall Horan pens patriotic song
And the 20-year-old yesterday told how he relaxed before the mammoth stadium concerts with a few pints in his hometown — but he had to go home hungry as his local kebab shop was closed.
The pop star said he loved the chance to catch up with schoolmates and even some of his old school teachers in his hometown of Mullingar this week.
Asked what he was enjoying the most this week, Horan said: “Just being around the town and just seeing everyone. Just kind of seeing people you haven’t seen in a while and seeing the family because I haven’t been home since Christmas so getting a couple of days in there was nice.”
Horan, who visited Supermacs the last time he was home, ended up disappointed in his quest for a kebab in his local takeaway.
“We went for a couple of pints and then went to the kebab shop and it was closed. It was typical, late at night, and it was closed.”
He told 2FM he couldn’t wait to sing the song he penned for the new album with Croke Park in his mind.
“The lyrics are about being to a lot of places around the world and the whole tagline is don’t forget where you belong. Hearing the crowd sing it is going to be unbelievable.”
