Litany of concerns on gardaí make report required reading

The required reading list for the new batch of garda recruits — the first trainees in five years — might be getting a late edition.

And it’s not just fresh-faced student gardaí that could do with digesting the 337-page Guerin tome — but all levels of the force, up to and including acting commissioner Noirín O’Sullivan.

Indeed, it’s a report senior officials in the Department of Justice, the newly appointed minister, Frances Fitzgerald, and the entire Government should digest.
