Former Rehab chairman Frank Flannery has been told the reasons he has given for not appearing before today’s meeting of the Dáil’s PAC are “nothing short of contemptible”.

The committee last night wrote to Mr Flannery and the recently retired chief executive, Angela Kerins, following their refusal to attend today’s meeting examining how it uses state funding.

The former Rehab bosses will be told today they must co-operate with a Dáil inquiry into the crisis-hit charity, just hours after attempting to block more details of their pay packets from being revealed.
