Speeding notices cancelled in unacceptable circumstances

The inspectorate lists a number of cases where members of the gardaí had their fixed-charge notices cancelled in unacceptable circumstances:

-An on-duty garda had five notices cancelled between 2007 and 2011, including one for driving at 88km/h in a 50km/h zone.

The inspectorate said that the reasons given for the excessive speed were “not justified”.
