Man questioned following arson attack on apartment

Gardaí were questioning a man last night in connection with an arson attack on an apartment in North Cork.

The man, 42, was arrested in Mallow yesterday and detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act for questioning at Mallow Garda station in connection with the incident at the Granary Court apartments on St Joseph’s Rd on Wednesday night.

Gardaí believe that an accelerant was poured in through an open window of the apartment while two people were inside.
