Huge cache of imitation Ugg boots originated in China, say gardaí

Gardaí believe the 15,000 pairs of counterfeit boots seized on the northside of Cork city originated in China and were destined to be sold on to market stall holders around the country.

The raid on the premises at the Hollymount Industrial in Hollyhill is only the start of what will be a lengthy investigation.

The counterfeit boots, made to look as though they were the upmarket Ugg brand, were seized when gardaí and customs officials raided the premises at 10.30am last Thursday.
