Agitated man pepper-sprayed by gardaí

An agitated man had to be pepper-sprayed by gardaí at the scene of a domestic incident after he repeatedly pounded his chest with his fist and then picked up a knife.

Andrew Cash, who works in Australia, was back in Cork at the time of the incident on Dec 8, 2013, at a house in Heatherview, Glanmire, Co Cork.

Judge Con O’Leary convicted Cash on a charge of wilfully obstructing Garda Kevin Dorgan who responded to a call to the house. Cash was given a two-month suspended jail sentence at Cork District Court yesterday.
