Consoles snapped up two years before going on sale

They are set to be at the top of every Christmas wishlist, but unless you were among the customers pre-ordering them up to two years ago, the Xbox One and Playstation 4 look set to sell out instantly.

The country’s largest video game retailer, GameStop, said it had recorded unprecedented levels of demand for both the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.

The consoles, which are to be launched in America tomorrow, won’t be on sale in Ireland until next week, but already demand seems to be outstripping supply.
