One of Kerry’s leading tourist attractions, the Aqua Dome water park in Tralee, has defended the advertisement of a cleaning position on the JobBridge intership scheme.

Tralee town councillor Pa Daly (SF) called on the Aqua Dome to withdraw its advert for a cleaner, saying it could not possibly take nine months to learn how to clean.

Aqua Dome manager Kieran Ruttledge said Sinn Féin had got the wrong end of the stick and had also seriously underestimated the responsibilities attached to the job of cleaning and customer care at the water facility which the internship actually encompassed.
