These were the words of an emotional Aoife O’Brien as she read a devastating victim impact statement on behalf of her sister Niamh and the rest of Joe O’Brien’s family from the witness box moments after Patrick Keating had been found guilty of her father’s murder.

“We never got to say goodbye. And I will never again feel the love he had for me through one of his famous bear hugs,” she said.
