BoI offer discounts of up to 25% on car insurance

Bank of Ireland is entering the car insurance market offering its customers discounts of up to 25%.

Two new car insurance product options are available through the bank — Popular and Prestige.

In a statement, the bank said the new car insurance products are “competitively priced” and available to all. However, its existing customers will be able to benefit from additional discounts of up to 25%.

Existing banking customers will receive a discount of 20% on their car insurance policy, while home insurance customers will get a further discount of 5%.

Speaking about the bank’s move into the car insurance market, managing director of Bank of Ireland Insurance Services, Eamon Slevin, said the move was simply a respond to demand for products.

“We are launching these new car insurance products as a direct response to market demand. Bank of Ireland’s flexible car insurance allows customers to pick the cover that suits their individual needs, backed up by a quick, simple and hassle-free claims process,” he said.

Both products include a range of features and benefits as standard including a monthly payment plan with no fees or charges, breakdown/rescue cover in Ireland, unlimited audio cover, EU cover for up to 45 days and cover for fire brigade charges up to a maximum of €1,500.

Customers will also be able to customise their cover further by adding extra protections such as increased amounts for car hire and personal belongings, cover for sat navs, games consoles and child seat.
