Former teacher Declan Murphy deals with a very different kind of child — by the age of seven they’re feral, living on the street, hooked on drugs, and earning more than their parents.

Mr Murphy, from Clonakilty, has spent nearly 10 years working with street children in Nepal and in that time he has rescued about 100 from the streets or from lives of back-breaking labour.

His aim is to get them home and into the classroom where education can help them make decent lives for themselves.
