Banner’s welcome home party goes global

As 30,000 supporters welcomed the Clare U21 and senior All-Ireland hurling champions home to Ennis on Sunday night, another 15,600 fans in 60 countries around the world viewed the event online.

Figures published yesterday paint a fascinating picture of the travels of the Clare diaspora in recent years, with the US, Australia, Canada, Spain and the UAE all prominently represented. Banner fans also logged on to the Ennis App in Ghana, Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Oman and the Cayman Islands to view the victorious homecoming event.
