€800k site bought in 2008 to be demolished
Demolition work on the 1.54-acre site of the former Coláiste Chairbre in Dunmanway is set to begin next month, according to Independent councillor Declan Hurley, who said boundary fencing would be installed and the former school returned “to a green-field site” until a decision is made “as to what to do with it”.
The deterioration of the former vocational school, located at the eastern end of the town, had been of concern to locals in recent years, Mr Hurley said.
