Happy days for Crystal Swing with viral video hit

Crystal Swing matriarch Mary Murray Burke has said she’s “amazed” with the online reaction that the band’s latest music video is receiving and said it demonstrates “we can laugh at ourselves”.

Mary said the 1950s- style Happy Days video is making serious waves in Ireland, the UK and US. The East Cork woman “didn’t get out of her dressing gown yesterday” as the phone was hopping all day long with calls, emails and texts from fans and media reacting to their latest offering.

The video, filmed by Mick Bracken from Mullingar and directed by Crystal Swing, was the trio’s brainchild. Mary stars as Miss Humming Bottom, daughter Dervla is Candy Boo Boo, and son Derek is Rockin’ Ricky.
