Cowen reiterates his regret over economic collapse

Former taoiseach Brian Cowen has said nobody was more sorry about the economic collapse than he was.

At a book launch in Edenderry, Co Offaly, last night he said: “I’ve said on a number of occasions on the record, there was no one more sorry than I, as Taoiseach at the time, regarding what had occurred.

“It was my job to deal with it and my government’s job to deal with it.
