A keen kite-flyer, Joanie came up with the idea of a charity kitefest to help raise money for cancer research, a cause close to her own heart.

Currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, the mother of five from Fermoy, Co Cork, is organising the Come Fly with Me novelty event, which takes place at Millstreet Country Park on Sept 22.
