Rent rate in capital up 7.5% on last year

The rate of rent increase in Dublin has accelerated to further widen the gap between rental rates in the capital and the rest of the country.

Rent rate in capital up 7.5% on last year

Rents in Dublin are now 7.5% higher than a year ago — the fastest rate of rent inflation since mid-2007 — after registering their fourth consecutive quarter of growth.

The figures are contained in the quarterly Daft.ie Rental Report which was released yesterday. It analyses the full database of properties posted on Daft.ie up to the end of July, and transactions contained in the Residential Property Price Register.
