Gardaí decline to release results of autopsy on newborn

Gardaí are still investigating the death of a newborn baby boy following an autopsy on the infant’s remains yesterday.

Dr Margot Bolster, assistant state pathologist, who performed the autopsy at Cork University Hospital, furnished the preliminary findings of her examination to investigating detectives.

However, following a case conference in the afternoon, gardaí said they would not be disclosing the findings for operational reasons.
