Woman left bloodied after mallet fell on her head

A woman was left bloodied and bruised after a mallet fell on her head in a car park yesterday.

According to witnesses the head of the mallet, missing its handle, fell off the roof at the historic Potato Market car park in Limerick, and hit the woman as she was passing.

The mother of four had just paid to park at the facility, which is located adjacent to the city’s courts complex, when the mallet struck her.
