Gardaí are treating as suspicious the death of a newborn baby boy whose body was found in a house in Cork City last night.

An autopsy on the infant’s remains, which is due to be carried out at Cork University Hospital today, will determine the course of their investigation.

The alarm was raised just after 5pm when emergency services were called to a house in the Deerpark area of the city.
