Anglo contacts pressure mounts on Kenny

Fianna Fáil are pressing Mr Kenny to make a statement addressing the matter after emails emerged claiming the then opposition leader had telephone conversations with a senior member of the bank’s staff in Nov 2008, two months later than the contact the Taoiseach had told the Dáil about.

Fianna Fáil’s Timmy Dooley said the Taoiseach was guilty of hypocrisy for stating that the previous Government had been in an “axis of collusion” with the crisis-hit bank. Mr Dooley insisted the Taoiseach must “come clean” and detail all his contacts with officials from the bank.
