Hospital ‘frequent flyer’ sleeping off hangovers

A Limerick man is travelling so often by ambulance to sleep off hangovers in hospital that emergency personnel have dubbed him “frequent flyer”.

Management at Limerick University Hospital are now concerned the recidivist drunk is hitting both ambulance and emergency department services.

The man, in his 20s, has caused 18 emergency call-outs to the ambulance service since March, with nine in June alone.
