A woman had to be removed from her car by emergency services after crashing into the front door of a busy Cork City pub on Saturday evening.

Fire crews used cutting equipment to remove the roof of the Toyota Corolla which hit the North Gate Tavern at the bottom of Shandon St at around 5.45pm. The cause of the crash was unclear.

It is understood the driver’s daughter had also been in the car but was able to get out without emergency service help.
