Bomb scare to delay post deliveries

An Post has warned customers that delivery delays are likely after its national sorting hub in Portlaoise had to be evacuated due to a bomb scare.

Bomb scare to delay post deliveries

Staff had to leave the building at Clonminem Industrial Estate yesterday after customs officials, who work in National Parcel Hub, identified a suspect package. The army’s bomb disposal team was called in to investigate and last night the package was removed from the centre.

However, An Post said the evacuation had disrupted its work and this could have a knock-on effect to its services throughout last night.
