Reilly under fire from FG and Labour

Health Minister James Reilly has come under sharp criticism from both Labour and Fine Gael for his level of consultation on draft abortion laws.

Dr Reilly, along with the Taoiseach, also came under attack in a meeting last night with Fine Gael TDs, who said the parliamentary party was being bypassed in the drafting of the laws.

Labour’s Kathleen Lynch, minister of state in his department, was said to have been “livid” with suggestions that she and the other minister of state, Alex White, were kept in the loop on the preparation of the legislation.
