A former commercial officer with Ulster Bank left the company after an increased workload made her “petrified” she would make a mistake, after the bank was restructured, a tribunal has heard.

Sinéad Gough, of Lemybrien, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, has taken a case to the Employment Appeals Tribunal for constructive dismissal against Ulster Bank following her resignation from the company in 2011.

She told the opening day of her hearing in Waterford yesterday that, after people left in a round of redundancies when the bank was restructured in Jan 2010, she was working three days a week but trying to fit in five days’ worth of work.
