128 retired HSE staff on €100k pensions

There are 128 retired public health sector workers — mainly consultants — on pensions of over €100,000 per annum.

Figures released by the HSE in response to a freedom of information request show that the top 25 recipients, made up mainly of retired consultants, get more than €2,400 per week or €124,654 per year from the State.

The annual cost to the state of funding the pension payments of the top 25 recipients is €4.26m.
