Family of murdered student to face accused

The family of a murdered foreign exchange student will today come face-to-face with the man accused of her killing at his trial in Japan.

Musician Richard Hinds, aged 19, from Memphis, Tennessee, has admitted strangling Nicola Furlong, 21, but denies killing her intentionally.

The Dublin City University undergraduate from Curracloe, Co Wexford, was found unconscious in an upmarket hotel in central Tokyo last May after a night out with a friend attending a concert.
