Investigation under way after shots are fired through window
Up to five bullets were fired in the attack at Delmege Park, Moyross.
It is believed the incident may be linked to the murder last September of Robert Sheehan, aged 21.
He was shot dead outside a hotel in Bunratty where he had been attending his brother’s wedding.
A hired gunman from Dublin is suspected of carrying out the murder of Sheehan who was involved in the attack in Moyross on Sept 10, 2006, which left brother and sister, Gavin and Millie Murray with horrific burns.
Millie, who was seven at the time, and Gavin five, are still undergoing treatment for their injuries.
Sheehan was one of three teenagers jailed for the attack. He had over 50 criminal convictions. His murder is linked to an attack in Moyross a week prior to the wedding in Bunratty when another man was badly beaten in a row over a woman.
Following the murder of Sheehan, a number of men left Moyross for Liverpool where they have relatives.
Nobody has been charged in connection with the murder.
A gun discovered near the scene was found not to be the murder weapon.
Gardaí have carried out a forensic examination of the scene of Wednesday night’s shooting.
Bullet fragments indicate a semi-automatic handgun was used.
