Students create a stir to set first Irish ‘spooning’ record

Students created quite a stir yesterday by setting what they believe is the first national record for spooning.

You could have cut the tension with a knife at Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) as organisers of the “spoonathon” set out to break the world record for the most people spooning simultaneously.

Spooning is defined as two people lying side-by-side — like, well, spoons.
