Murder hunt as body found

Gardaí received a 999 call from the owner of one of the apartments shortly after 4pm yesterday. That person had gone to check his property as he had concerns about it.

When officers went to the Linnbhla apartment block at Santry Cross they found the dead man in a first floor property. Gardaí said the victim was aged 30 to 40 and confirmed he was a foreigner. State pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy travelled to the scene and carried out a preliminary examination. She confirmed the man had suffered a knife wound.
