HSE chiefs face choice over cutting €166m perks

HSE bosses may be forced to either cut long-existing payments for established medics or target new entrants if they want to reduce the sector’s €166.5m a year allowances bill.

Figures revealed by health service management after Thursday’s meeting of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee show that cutting the bill may be more difficult than thought.
